The Science Visit “Health Technologies 2.0”

Infertility, aging population, lack of quality food, personalized usage of genetic information, ownership and security of health data – these are just some of the challenges facing modern Western societies. These are also fields of research that combine Estonian leading expertize on ICT and health technologies.

Estonian Research Council selects 15 science and health journalists to explore the latest research on health technologies combined with ICT. Participants are introduced with international and interdisciplinary research groups working in Estonia.

The Science Visit “Health Technologies 2.0” for Journalists’ is organized by the Estonian Research Council through the initiative “Research in Estonia” which mediates Estonian research internationally. The visit is organized in cooperation with Estonian Public Broadcasting.

Applications will be evaluated within a week after the deadline. Only those applications will be evaluated that have all the necessary fields filled in (contact information, CV, letter of motivation, previously published work). All applicants will receive a notification of the results via e-mail by the organizers.

 Costs covered by the organizer:

  •  accommodation for three nights during the Visit (May 24–27) in Tartu and Tallinn
  • meals and coffee-breaks
  • transportation during the trip

Participants are responsible for their travel expenses to and from Estonia, including airport (or port) transfer to Tartu on the day of arrival.

NB! All successful applicants are expected to confirm their participation via e-mail within a week after the organizer’s positive feedback and afterwards by sending the organizers their travel booking information no later than on 31st of March 2016 10th of April (deadline extended) 2016.

A more detailed programme with logistical information is sent via e-mail to the participants in April.
